Where to stay
There is a lot of accommodation on offer in Bulgaria, and it is easy to find a place to stay. Properties may be rented fully or partially furnished, or unfurnished. Property rentals are much more expensive in Sofia and in some other big cities such as Varna, Plovdiv and Burgas. Rental contracts are usually signed between landlords and tenants. In most cases, rent is payable in cash or via bank transfer on a certain day of the month. Usually, utility bills (water, electricity and heating) are not included in the rent and are payable by the tenant on a regular basis.
Accommodation is advertised by real estate agencies, local and regional newspapers and magazines, and on various websites and social media. A fee is usually payable when you use the services of an agency.
